The Project Update

Filed under: books — Ten @ 9:31 pm

I had an hour to spare, so I tried to translate a few pages of The Project, ch28, pgs9-21.

The thing with Bara no tame ni [薔薇のために] is that I can’t seem to find words to express a particular line. Not to mention my really sucking kanji reading skills. Why can’t this series have furigana? It’ll make my life much more easier.

Well, this little project is mostly to improve my reading comprehension. My goal is an ambitious one. I want to read Kokumono - that’s Saiunkoku Monogatari for y’all — novels in about a year from now.

Hey, no laughing! I’m serious.

The Girly Girl

Filed under: purchase — Ten @ 11:23 pm

I’m in a girly mood. I bought girly books, girly movies, girly clothes and girly perfume. Ain’t I a girl? ;p

To family and friends who frown upon the notion of a girly Kirsten, I say, “Pffft!”.

Seriously though, I went on random shopping expedition. And yes, it was a complete success. Well, except maybe for one minor detail.

One word. Shoes.

I NEED GIRLY SHOES.

Ugh. It’s a shame that a pair of purty shoes cost at least $150 a pop. Of course, when I talk about purty, I don’t mean those fugly sensible shoes I usually wear to work. Anyhow, to make the long story short, I cannot decide on which pair to choose.

Should I get flats such as this one? Or this? Perhaps something similar to this three inch slide? Or maybe something pink and strappy?

Well, I made a date with my lovely cousin this coming Saturday. Maybe she’ll guide to a better direction of less expensive but nevertheless purty shoes.

Then again, maybe I should just go look in Payless? Ick.

Things to do…

Filed under: life — Ten @ 10:59 pm

…tomorrow.

1. Wake up early in the morning. And when I say early, I meant 0900. I work in the evening so I have skewed sleeping habits.

2. Go to Saks or at least to Nordstrom. Must. Buy. A. Dress. If Galleria is a no go, try Rice Village. Look for Lot 8. Maybe I’d spy Chloe Dao. ;p

3. Go to First Colony Mall. Return skirt and top (only if they will apply the mark down in Foleys).

4. Dinner and a movie. Whee.

5. Complete the translation for Bara no Tame ni ch28. Damn, it has been a long time since I’ve read that book. (I have a feeling I won’t do this, though.)

6. Read blogs (anime, tech, Whedon, etc). Be indignant at the FYG rantings. (I have a rant ready in action. Stay tuned.) Don’t forget the wisdom of Jane Espenson.

7. Make an entry about Gakuen Heaven. That is one fucked up series. And I’m enjoying it. Weird.

Goodies from the Nano-dom

Good news. I received my Anime Nano shirts today. The camisole fits okay.

Bad news. The shirt is a wee too big. Zazzle had written a caution of ordering a couple of sizes bigger. Hence, ordering a large one. Big mistake. I look as if I’m drowning in it. =(

Good news. I really like the camisole piece. The straps are even satin-y.

Semi-Bad news. In honesty, I am iffy about the shirt. The cloth seems not to be a good one to use under the warm weather. The stamping looks good, though. As for the shrinkage, I’ll have to wash it first.
