TV bits: Heroes ~Pixie is going down!~

Filed under: heroes, tv bits — Ten @ 1:48 am

Hah. Now, I know why I hated that Eden twit. Because she is EVIL. That hag. Her loyalties are with CreepyEyeglassesDad. She is very annoying. And she kissed Suresh Jr. Ugh. And worse, Mohinder seems to enjoy the lip aerobics. Or was there some tongue action? I must pause and rewind and pause again. Hm. I can’t say. Anyway, it is unforgivable.

Evil!Pixie has done it. I am geared to despise her. Yet this teensy revelation, which I had suspected, clears a few continuity problems. So Evil!Pixie’s bad acting was indeed “acting”. Unless that was really bad acting and the “minor reveal” and her improved performance are pure coincidental. I call the latter since that will motivate me to start that Evil!Picie sucks campaign. I clearly have issues.

Oh, and yes, I stolen borrowed name Pixie from Erin’s recap on TWOP.

The episode is decent. I like the revelations. But it was a little meh for me. It doesn’t help that Studio 60 is not airing and that makes me cranky.

TV bits

Filed under: tv bits, ugly betty — Ten @ 11:24 am

Omigod. Ten has a guilty pleasure to watch this fall. Hm. It is campy, cheesy, and soapy. It is Ugly Betty. I love it.

I think I am morphing into a semi-normal person. My anime watching dwindles; and my television time rises.

TV bits: Monday Night Lights p.2

Filed under: heroes, studio 60, tv bits — Ten @ 12:37 am

I realized one thing while I was sitting through last Monday’s offering of Heroes and Studio 60 (I saw it yesterday, though). I like Heroes for its plot but I love Studio 60 for its dialogue. My two favorite shows this season cannot be more different with one another.

I am enamoured with the serendipitous intersection of the lives of X-dudes. Even with the problems of continuity. it is genuinely plot-tastic. Oh, and the FX is wonderful. But I have to admit that the dialogue can sometimes be so trite. WTF is up with this season’s catch phrase “Save the cheerleader, Save the world”? It is as if it comes from a very bad zombie movie. Is there a good zombie movie? It is one of the worst lines I’ve heard, ever. And I’m not that picky. I mean, I’ve watched and tolerated quite a few bad anime shows myself, thankyouverymuch.

On the other hand, Studio 60 is filled with wondrous dialogue. It is music to my ears. I love how the words flows out from the actors’ mouths. I love the inflections. I love the rhythm. I guess this is the equivalent of a hard on (pardon me, gentle readers.) for Sorkinese. The series is very character-centric, which I love. The plot can be describe as day-in-a-life-ish, which I don’t mind.

Yeah, I might as well admit this but I love Studio 60 more than any shows I’m watching right now. Including the anime shows. Unfortunately, America doesn’t seem to have the passion for it as much as I do. Come on people, this show is awesome.

The 9rules Open

Filed under: fandom — Ten @ 12:21 pm

Voices from the Nanodom whispers that 9rules opens for another round. It sounds like a great idea to find a whole new audience. I would enter The Blog (not this one, you dolt, the anime one) if not for the fact that I’m very shy. Really. Coughs. I’m a very anti-social person. Why do I hear JM laughing?

The bloggies that I would like to see in the list would probably be Alex (I like his brain. It’s tasty.), Garten (I want to marry him, virtually.), David (Alas, he has abandoned his little anime nook.), Reika’s LJ (I stalk her.), maya (because she’s a sweet, sweet girl.), moy (So I can live vicariously through him and his extravagant purcahses.) and lastly, the Seaslug Team (ahh, but they’ve already submitted their name.). So there. Frankly, I’m rooting for Kabitzin since I’m crushin’ on him. A little bit. Just don’t tell C.

Enough about 9rules. I return to our regular programming another karaoke post. Later. Much later.

Oh, lawd. I was so tired last night that I couldn’t even have the conjure up energy to watch Heroes and Studio 60.

Don’t worry, dear Suresh (Jr. not Sr., thankyouverymuch), I won’t neglect you any longer.
