TV bits: Monday Night Lights p.1
I love Monday nights. First, Heroes and the beautiful and luscious Suresh. Then, followed by Studio 60 and Aaron Sorkin’s wit. I admit. I cheat. Technically, I watch the two series on the wee hours of Tuesday morning, right after I come home from work. TiVo is such a fantastic invention.
I am this close to an obsession for Heroes. Remember Gilmore Girl’s resident James Dean Jess? He is away from Rory and he is now a goody-two shoes. He is currently boinking a lovely woman named Simone. Oh, and he mimics the powers of other X-dudes. He’s brother is a pain in the arse.
And there’s Mohinder Suresh. Omigod. That sexy, sexy man. It’s almost illegal that you just want to grab a handcuff and… Did I just mention handcuffs? Ahem. Yes, Suresh and his unparalleled beauty and. Sorry. I can’t think of anything else to say about him. Call me shallow but that man is HOT. Moving on.
The lovely Ali as a schizo Niki and her genius son. Niki’s storyline started to be a tad boring until this last episode. Darn, talk about a case of split personalities. I’m likely to believe that her ex-husband has some kind of X-dude power. And her super strength probably comes from him too.
As far as favorite X-dudes, its a close bid between the immortal Claire and the time-stopping Hiro. The salaryman edges out the not-so-perky cheerleader simply because of Hiro’s natural enthusiasm for the unexplained.
The writing for Heroes can be a bit uneven and bad acting, at times, rears its ugly head. I truly hate that gal in Suresh’s apartment building. No, not because she is coming on too strong to the prof. Of course, I’d occassionally snap back at the television screen. I mean, the poor dude just lost his dad. Down girl. Geez. But the main thing is that neighbor gal can’t act. It’s darn flat. She makes Ted Dunn’s Duncan Kane seem like Oscar worthy.
Although I give the impression that I merely watch Heroes as substitute for porn, I do love the comic-y appeal. It’s mainstream but it’s not. It’s my type of genre.
Tomorrow or whenever, I’ll babble about Studio 60.
