TV bits: The Tally

Filed under: tv bits — Ten @ 8:18 pm

I am starting to have way too many tv series to watch this season. IT IS WEIRD!

Hm. Let me keep score on how many shows I’ll be keeping track of.

1. Heroes. A no-brainer.

2. Ugly Betty. Because Justin is love.

3. Pushing Daisies. Much heart to Bryan Fuller.

4. Chuck. Comedy meets spy games. And there’s Adam Baldwin.

5. Dexter. Who wouldn’t want to watch a serial-killer killer?

Okay, that’s five. Two more than my yearly average. And I haven’t seen Bionic Woman and The Sarah O’Connor Chronicles. I might be taking a peek at Private Practice, even if I am not a Grey’s Anatomy fan. I’ve seen an episode of Dirty Sexy money and it has potential. Gossip Girl is earning rave reviews so I have to check that out. The little that I’ve seen of Californication is pretty awesome so I’d give it a shot too. I might also take a look at Weeds. (Showtime is airing pretty neat series lately.)

Hopefully, out of all of these, I’d be only completely smitten to less than five. More than five means, I’ll be in trouble.

Whoa. Pushing Daisies some kinda rocks. Nothing less from Bryan Fuller, the dude behind Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me. I hope the show won’t be cancelled. Smart and quirky fantasy rarely pushes pass the first season.

Yeah, I got the pilot through other resources.

Drama, drama, drama. The iPhone war continues.

Apple is losing its touch.

Hm. I think I miss my anime blog. I’ve been writing long posts these past few days.

TV bits: Heroes S2 ~The HoYay! chronicles returns~

Filed under: heroes, tv bits — Ten @ 1:43 am

BEWARE OF S2 EPISODE 1 SPOILERS!!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I watch Heroes for the usual reasons: Awesome characters, plot-tastic narratives, X-men-esque powers. They are pretty great reasons to enjoy a show. Ah. But as far as Heroes goes, it is only half of the awesomeness.

My foray to the world of BL/yaoi/slash in the anime scene titters between success and failure. On one hand, I whole-heartedly support the homoerotic onslaught. But the on the other hand, I cannot be as excited as I want to be in this genre. I feel like a fraud at times. I thought, maybe I just don’t get it.

Ah. But enlightenment came. Heroes showed the way.

As much as I love Heroes for the its storytelling, it gives me different high when I start to think about the HoYay in this series. It is makes me excited. Waaaay too excited, in an unhealthy way.

So season 2 starts, yet the highlights are not the plot progression.

1. The House of M. Mo and Matt are dad and dad of Molly. Oh. My. Gawd.

2. Petrellicest continues. Nathan is so heartbroken that he abandons EVERYTHING until he can be reunited with his true love the much buff and half-nekked Peter. Hoo-Wah!

3. The Hiro-Kensei adventure begins. Poor Ando.

4. A highly potential HRG-Mo love affair.

5. Take note that Matt and Nathan abandoned their wives. I might be right about my theory about killing of distractions . (Read Case #2).

Watching Heroes gives me a whole lot of scenario for fanfic slash. Don’t even get me started with half-nekked and handcuffed Peter and his shiny new necklace (that is very much like the Hatian’s). Ooh. The possibilities.

Aside from the obvious HoYay!, Heroes is also rife with inappropriate chemistry. In season one, we had the Petrellicest: Nathan and brother Peter, Claire and uncle Peter, Claire and dad Nathan. Strange, strange family. Fun too. In season two, the new recruits, Maya and Alejandro might join the Petrelli ranks.

And this is only episode one. Oh my goodness. Is it hot in here?
