Remembering One Piece P.O.P.

I stopped collecting action figs when I realized how much money I’ve been wasting. But today, I’ll make an exception.

I thought that the One Piece Portraits of Pirates collection were discontinued; I was wrong. So far, I have Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Nami ver.1, Nico Robin, Ussop & Chopper combo, Ace, Bellamere, Tashigi, and Smoker. And I missed the following: Nami ver.2, Vivi, Chopper (solo), and Franky. Man. Out of the four missing, I really want Franky. He’s the priority. I’ll probably scavenge Ebay.

Then according to HLJ, Megahouse released Mr. 2 Bon Clay last month. I already fished out my credit card for that one. Yay, flaming okama way. And in May, Shanks fig will be released. That’s a definite pre-order.

P.S. Man, oh, man. There’s Black Cat’s Saya fig too. And a Roy Mustang and a human Al Elric.

I love Lovely Complex manga. But watching the Live Action makes me want to gouge my eyes. Ugh.

Inuyasha bits

Filed under: books — Ten @ 5:02 am

If after this latest Inuyasha arc and Naraku is still alive, I’ll start stalking Takahashi-sensei. I just read the wiki (because everything wiki is true), and it seems that this is the final arc. Yay.

So my predictions for the ending (I guess it’s obvious, but still…):

1. Naraku is defeated. Pretty, please. 500-some chapters of evil Naraku is too much,
2. The kazana curse (because of #1) will be broken. And Miroku and Sango will live HEA.
3. Rin will grow up as Sesshomaru’s bride. Yeah, there’s some loli aspect involved but Rin will grow up.
4. Aside from Naraku, someone else will die. Actually, I hope this won’t happen. I just have a feeling.
5. Kagome goes back home. The well/portal will close, and somehow Inuyasha will be reincarnated.

Yup, these are my predictions. They are cliche endings but I like cliche in my fighting/adventure genre. I also like ‘happily ever after’.

P.S. To be honest, I skipped a couple of hundred chapters so I’m a little woozy with some details. I’ll probably marathon the series one weekend.

P.P.S. I’ve been a manga whore these past few weeks. I’ll probably mention some titles in a future post that I’ve been following recently,

Just finished reading Jodi Picoult’s The Pact. Whoa. Great way to lighten my mood. Young love, suicide, sexual abuse, depression, courtroom drama. Talk about emotionally draining. *sniff*

Heh. This puts my troubles in a different perspective.

Karaoke’ing with the Boyz

Filed under: music — Ten @ 3:56 am

Whoa, now.

Last night, I chanced upon this show called Don’t forget the lyrics. I was actually going to watch saved ep of Anthony Bourdain, but I saw a musical group that I loved during the 90s, Boyz II Men. So what does a girl like Ten do? Watch the entire show, of course.

And dude, it was fun.

For a few moments, I was into dating again when I heard them sing “I’ll make love to you”. I wish they sang “On Bended Knees”, too.

After the show, I was, of course, curious of their current gigs. Google is my friend. They having tours and such, but a little snippet from a college paper had me a little ticked.

“We wanted to get a group that we’re all embarrassed to love now,” she said. “We want to hear the kind of song that we had our first kiss to, or had our first slow dance to.”
says Matthew Price from UNC

That was cold. And harsh. Sure, boybands have a certain stigma. That’s because a lot of those groups that sprouted during the 90s were crap. I have unabiding dislike for N-Sync. West Life made me break out. Backstreet Boys, well, their music was crap but I used to crush on Kevin. So there. But man, Boyz II Men was awesome. Great harmonies, great music. Still awesome. So Mr. Price, there’s no need for embarrassment.
