Anime Expo woes.

Should I simply f*ck it and attend AX instead of Otakon? California is considerably nearer than Maryland, to me anyway.

I like the atmosphere in Otakon. I like that sheer chaos amongst the fans. AX is much more subdued, I heard. So far,

Tomokazu Seki is the winning factor for me when I decided to attend Otakon. I have that set. And I am ready to fangirl for him. But then, here comes the announcement that Gackt (along with other members of his new band with Yoshiki) will be performing in AX.

I mean, hello. This is Gackt, an awesome musician. He has such a remarkable voice that makes me all enthralled. I play his tunes all the time. He is amazing. And no, I am not one of his fangirls who drool on his looks. I don’t think he’s all that. I think he is scrawny looking trying to be all manly even though I could probably take him on without breaking a sweat. But other than that, he is golden. I want to listen to him live.

I want to go to AX but going to AX this late, without any preparation (money-wise) is not boding well with me. If I go, it means that I would be touching a portion of my downpayment for the SUV I plan to buy late this summer. Erm, as much as I love Gackt, money matters are different.

BTW, the Aya Hirano thing doesn’t really thrill me. At all. I don’t care if comes.

Confession

I have not watched a full episode of anime since I came back from Baltimore.

People around me are scared.

Seriously.

I could not sleep.

You might attribute it to excitement but no, it isn’t. My body clock is simply ‘effed up. I usually sleep at around five or six in the morning. Seriously. And that means I’ll have about an hour of sleep before I get ready for my flight. Eep.

Well, here’s to me enjoying the Geek Prom. Gawd help me once I walk in the dealer’s room.

A curable ailment

I realized something. I think… I am getting bored with anime.

*gasp*

Blasphemy!! Blasphemy, I tell you. In the past month alone, my anime viewing habits have been reduced to a very bare minimum. Yikes. Should I seek intervention?

I shared my non-worries to an annoyingly perceptive friend.

“Maybe not.”, said Miz P. “I assure you it is merely the calm before the storm.”

“And how so?”, asked this blogger.

Miz P’s eyes twinkled sagely. She arched her perfectly shaped left brow and laughed.

“Well, there’s this little thing called the Otakon that you’re raving about… Unless you’ve completely forgotten about that?”

“Oh!” was all the response I can give. I smiled sheepishly.

She got me.

For an insane moment, I actually forgot my trip to Baltimore next week. It is a surprise considering I have been sharing this bit to anyone suckered into a mundane conversation. I am told, my repeated mention is on the verge of irritating, albeit tempered by the sincere excitement.

Seriously though, I am truly having relapse in the anime watching department. It is a shame considering I enjoy maintaining The Blog.

The real culprit for the uber-procrastination: A stack of Michael Connelly and Jeffery Deaver books and not to mention, guilty pleasures including a couple of Julie Quinn novels. Hee.
