Mutants unite
M.E. Day at FOX on Friday, Dec. 07. I know they are congregating in support of the WGA strike, and all. But if I were able to come, my reason would be to meet His Purpleness and Miss Espenson.
I wish I were in LA right now.
Grrr. Argh.

WHAT THE HOLY FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! SABRINA AND MARK ARE GOING HOME????!!! THIS IS INSANITY!!!!
Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out.
I am semi-calm. Okay. Not really. Pardon the CAPS and the many exclamation points, but holy shit! Sabrina and Mark went home tonight. I am a little upset. Well, more than little. Hence, the caps and all. I am flabbergasted. Surprised. Shocked. I don’t know anymore.
I am taking a breather as I type. And I just realize that I am actually emotionally invested in DWTS. Who would’ve thought? Although I was rooting for the awesome Helio, booting out Sabrina early in the game is undeserved. Damn (again!).
As much as I mock American Idol/Survivor-like shows, I have to confess: I am hooked with Dancing with the Stars. It is just darn entertaining. Actually, this is the first season, that I’ve been following the show regularly.
My vote for the week goes to… Drum roll, please… It’s a tie!
>> Helio, because he is so charming and appealing on the dance floor. Also, he’s performance tonight was simple lovely and breathtaking.
>> Sabrina. Damn, that girl CAN move.
As for the worst of the lot: It is the boxer dude. He’s just not graceful in ballroom. Period. (Boxer dude, please don’t hit me.)
Other evening highlights.
>> Super Cameron. Great choice of music. Thank you producers. Plus, the dude has been improving.
>> I’ve never gotten the appeal of Marie Osmond. Now, I know why. She’s a darling and such a good sport. I’m loving the personality.
>> Judge Carrie Ann Inaba showing a little bit of her claws (with her “I saw a lift” theme for the night). Meow.
Ack. I only have so much number of hours alloted for my watching frenzy. Alas, it seems that I have gained a number of shows to watch this fall. I wonder how many will be dropped by the end of the next month.
Here are the series I’m regularly watching (so far). Ranked not in particular order.
1. Heroes. Well, yeah. That’s a given. And contrary to my Heroes posts, it’s not just because of the HoYay! and fanservice. I do like the current mysteries and plots too.
2. Ugly Betty. Two words. Fa-boo.
3. Pushing Daisies. THIS IS FRAKKIN’ AMAZING!! Hands down the best show of the season. It is smart, funny, witty, and ever-so original. And the topper: It is visually stunning. I felt as if I were watching film when I watched pilot.
4. Dirty, Sexy, Money. I did not expect much for Dirty Sexy Money. But it transformed tabloid/sensationalist sensibilities into a smart and sophisticated script.
5. Chuck. Tight script. Seriously entertaining. It is like a better version of Jake 2.0 (a series I enjoyed watching). The casting director should be given props for finding the actors. The chemistry is perfect. To be honest, I was worried about McG being associated with this series. His direction is not much of a selling point. And as much as I am liking the show, the editing director needs to tone down the distracting fast cuts.
6. Reaper. A mellow(er?) version of Chuck, it seems. It is good ‘ole fun. And I love how The Devil is portrayed.
Hm. Which series will remain next month??
Reika’s recent post made my inner geek perked up. Unfortunately, I already have a few of those shows in my collection.
>> Buffy - Collector’s Set - I don’t have the collector’s set but I already have the complete series.
>> Angel - Collector’s Set - Also have the complete series.
>> all 10 separate season sets of Stargate SG-1 - I am a casual viewer but I could start collecting the box sets.
>> the 3 season sets released to date of Stargate: Atlantis - Not interested.
>> all 4 seasons of The Pretender, plus the TV Movies DVD - Oooh. Tempting.
>> Firefly - The Complete Series - Alas, I already have this too. (Because Whedon is love.)
>> all 3 seasons of Roswell - I have season one.
>> both seasons of Dark Angel - I’ve always wanted to complete this show.
>> The X-Files - The Complete Collector’s Edition - Hm. Is it a sacrilege to say that I do not care for this show?
Okay. How about including BSG? Or maybe Witch Blade? Perhaps Farscape, even if I am just a casual fan. Dr. Who might be nice. I liked that show Profiler too (although I don’t think Profiler can be classified as Sci-fi.). The dude from The Pretender made an appearance in that series.
So shelling out $900 for these shows is actually a great deal… Kinda. Maybe. Perhaps.
