20/20 vision again~

Filed under: stuff — Ten @ 10:35 pm

~thankyouverymuch!

During Otakon, I noticed a trend while glancing at semi-familiar street signs. They were alarmingly blurry. Even at a near distance!

Two weeks later, um, today, I was in the doctor’s office for an eye check up. Lo and behold, my poor myopic eyes devolved further. From -4.75 to -7.00. Oh, lordy. Since I work evening shift, driving has been a bitch. Now, I know why.

It took some time to select a proper frame; I chose a red Oakley. It looks professional enough for a work environment, but the deep red coloring and the purty etchings give it some personality. Plus, it is light and so comfy to wear.

Unfortunately, I had to pay premium for transition lenses that I used to have. So I opted out. Still, I was lucky to get the ultra thin lenses with anti-glare I wanted.

Two hours later, I walked out of store sporting my shiny new glasses. But the significant change in prescription took some time to get used to. Kinda weird, but awesome to see so clearly than before. I’m blind no more!

Oh, lawdy. I think I’m starting a P90x trend at work. Awesome. I hope they actually follow through with the program.

Tomorrow, I’m off for supplies for the next round.

P90X round 2

Okay, round one was successful. And if you’ve seen me before the program, you’d be surprised at the, erm, improvements. So yay me. Hee.

Having said that, I cannot rest on my laurels just yet. I have a long way to go before I reach my ideal size. In fact, I have four more months ahead. And proper prep is a must. I know, it’s weird to go all gung-ho with the vain aspect of weight-loss. But back home, there’s always this pressure to be in a certain size. I’m pretty sure I’ll be mercilessly teased (by my family) if I went back in Manila ballooned up like a barge. Although I’ve grown fond of Texas size, it doesn’t work that way in Manila. Or at least, where I grew up. It’s not fair, I know. But that’s life. And yes, I know I shouldn’t care about what other people think, but I do. So I’m taking precaution and preparing for the vacation.

Round two will start on Monday. I’m still doing the Lean routine instead of the regular one. Doing plyometrics is a HECK NO in my book.

By weekend, I need to stock up on food supply for the inevitable calorie counting (again!). Yup, tuna, salmon, white meat, low-sodium soup, power bars, 90 cal snacks, and so forth. Boring food plus boring salad again. I’ve been really bad with my food intake in the past couple of weeks, so it’s going to be hell to go back to the routine. It’s tough, but the results are worth it.

Yep, I’m back. After a four-day weekend of geekery, it’s nice to be home.

Gone fishing~

For geeky things, anyway.

I’m a few hours away from Baltimore, and I’m taking an early flight out of Houston. I’m dead tired, but it should be okay. This simply means I’ll be asleep all the way to Maryland.

For this year, I have vague plans. All I know, I’d be hanging out with Anna, bless her kind soul for putting up with me, and maybe meet random internet people. As for the events, it’s a wait and see kind of thing. Although, I’m most keen on going to Kappei Yamaguchi’s panel. And of course, there’s Jo Chen, mostly because of her gorgeous cover arts for BtVS season 8 comic. Plus, I have a thing for anything related to the Whedonverse.
